Elaine E. Ragan, 88, of Lindsborg, formerly of Milford, died Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Bethany Home in Lindsborg. Elaine was born July 4, 1930 at Parsons, the daughter of Clarence & Mildred (Norrick) Caldwell.

Elaine grew up at Parsons, and attended schools there and graduated from Parsons High School. She later attended Parsons Junior College and graduated with an Associates of Arts Degree.

Elaine worked for many years on Ft. Riley as a Nurse's Assistant. She was a member of the Church of God in McPherson, Women's Aglow, N.A.R.F.E., and was very active with the Disabled American Veteran's Auxiliary.

Elaine married Joseph B. Ragan on Sept. 8, 1950 in Parsons. Joseph died May 4, 1984.

Survivors include: 2 sons, Joseph B. Ragan and his wife Cathy, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Stephen A. Ragan and his wife Cecelia, Valley Falls; a daughter, Eva M. Ragan, Salina; two brothers, Clarence M Caldwell, Jr., Harwinton, CT., and Jerry Caldwell, Peoria, IL; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 sisters, Martha Hugo and Lillian Hayden.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Penwell-Gabel Junction City Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Stew Smith presiding. Burial will follow at the Ft. Riley Post Cemetery on Ft. Riley. The family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 a.m., on Wednesday, prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Disabled American Veteran's Association, or the Bethany Home, Lindsborg, KS.
