Bernharde "Berndy" Boone

Bernharde "Berndy" Boone, 73, of Milford, died Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan. Berndy was born March 20, 1944 in Metz, France, the daughter of Johann and Maria (Blechinger) Korczynski. She attended all of the her schooling in Germany and graduated from Hans-Schuller-Volksschule High School in Hallstadt, Germany.

She moved with her family to Junction City in 1978. She was a homemaker, but also worked as a Floor Manager at the Junction City Wal-Mart, as well as working for several years at the Geary County Clerk's Office.

Berndy married Andrew J. Boone on July 10, 1989 in Junction City. Andrew survives of the home. Other survivors include: 2 sons, Robert G. Hambruch, Jr., Ft. Worth, TX, and James E. Hambruch, St. Joseph, MI; a daughter, Jennifer L. Hambruch-Wege, Manhattan; a brother, Eugen Korczynski; a sister, Gisela Weigel, both of Hallstadt, Germany; 9 grandchildren, Ashley Dancy, Jacob Hambruch, Morgan Boettger, Madison Hambruch, Brittani Olson, Brianna Hambruch, Jarrod Wege, Jr., Jenna Wege, and James Wege ; 3 great-grandchildren, Kennedy Ingram, Violet Dancy, and Reagan Olson; and many nieces and nephews. Berndy was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Johanna Dorsch, and 2 brothers, Adolf Korczynski and Erwin Korczynski.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Penwell-Gabel Junction City Funeral Chapel, with Pastor James L. Hagemeister presiding. Cremation will follow the service.
