In Memory Of
Jeanette Kaye "Kaye" Deam
1932 - 2017

Our Loving mother, Jeanette “Kaye” Weaver Deam, beloved by many, many more than just her immediate family passed away Sunday February 12, 2017. She was 84 years old. Kaye was born November 4th in Stockdale, Ks to Glenn and Iola Weaver.

She graduated from Manhattan High School in May of 1950 where she was voted by her classmates to be Queen of the “Pigskin Prom” at her Senior Prom along with her high school sweetheart, John C. Deam, whom was also voted in as “King”. After high school she went on to attend and work at Kansas State University. She loved her work in the Physics Department at KSU. She also was active in the Pi Phi Sorority and was voted the “Flush Bowl Queen”. Kaye was an avid supporter of the KSU Purple.

Kaye went on to marry her high school sweetheart, John on November 26, 1953, they were married for 64 years. In that time, Kaye and John had 4 children, Scott Deam, Chris Deam, Susan Wright and Brett Deam. They also have 8 grand children, Brett, Johnathan, Jordan, Breanna, Joshua, Lake, Kealee and Braden.

Kaye was an avid part of the community, helping her husband run his Veterinary practice, playing valuable roles with the local PTA, and YMCA (President and Board Member). She was a major supporter and pioneer for the Junction City Wrestling Club and came to be known as “Mom” to all she came in contact with.

John and Kaye owned and operated Thunderbird Marina at Milford Lake from 1980 to 2016. She was always seen smiling and greeting everyone who came by.

Kaye, “Mom” will always be remembered making sure she waved as saying goodbye until you were out of sight.

Her greatest wish was to have a Celebration of Her Life with those who loved her, along with her song “When the Saints go Marching In” ringing in your thoughts, in Her Memory.
A celebration will take place at the family home on Saturday, February 25th, between 1 and 4pm.
